Whether you are here for two nights or two weeks, the island has a layer for every kind of traveller willing to look past the obvious.

• Ibiza Town (Eivissa) and Dalt Vila: The historic core and the best all-round base. The fortified upper town (Dalt Vila) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with panoramic views, while the port and La Marina quarter offer markets, dining and ferry connections. Ideal for travellers who want culture, nightlife access and convenience in one place.
• Figueretas: A short walk south of the town centre along a calm urban beach. More affordable than the port area, with a relaxed local feel and easy access to Ibiza Town on foot or by bus. Good for independent travellers who want proximity to the centre without paying centre prices.
• Sant Josep de sa Talaia (and Playa d'en Bossa): The municipality stretching southwest from Ibiza Town encompasses the famous Playa d'en Bossa, the island's longest sandy beach and home to the biggest beach clubs. Best for visitors whose holiday revolves around daytime beach-club sessions and open-air venues.
• Santa Eulalia del Río: The northeast coast town is the island's most family-friendly resort, with a calm marina, a long promenade, weekend markets and well-maintained beaches. A quieter alternative to the south, roughly 15 to 20 minutes by car from Ibiza Town.
• San Antonio (Sant Antoni de Portmany): The west-coast resort town is famous for its legendary sunset strip along the bay. It draws a young party crowd and offers budget-friendly accommodation, though it is more package-resort in character than the south or centre.

• Book early for summer: Ibiza's high season runs from late June through early September. Hotel rates and availability tighten dramatically from April onward, so securing accommodation three to six months in advance is standard practice for peak dates.
• Rent a car or scooter for flexibility: Public buses connect the main towns and beaches, but services thin out in the evening and many coves are only reachable by road or boat. A small rental car unlocks the quieter northern and eastern coastline without dependence on timetables.
• Consider a shoulder-season visit: May, June and October offer warm weather (20 to 28°C), fewer crowds and noticeably lower prices. Many hotels open in April and close by late October, so always verify operating dates when booking outside high season.
• Ibiza Airport to the centre: The airport (IBZ) sits about 7 kilometres southwest of Ibiza Town. Taxis take roughly 10 to 15 minutes and are metered. Bus line L24 runs to Ibiza Town and connects with other routes at the main bus station. Transfers to Santa Eulalia take around 30 to 40 minutes by taxi.
• Pack for two temperatures: Evenings in May, June and October can be cool once the sun drops. Even in August, the open-air venues and hilltop villages benefit from a light layer after midnight.
