Hotels in Benidorm: Where to Stay in 2025

Benidorm is one of the most visited resort towns in Europe, drawing millions of visitors each year to its twin crescent beaches on the Costa Blanca in the Valencia region of Spain. The skyline is unmistakable: a dense cluster of high-rise hotels rising from a narrow strip of coastline, backed by the Serra Gelada natural park. The combination of reliable sunshine, warm Mediterranean water and a well-oiled tourism infrastructure makes it a practical and affordable destination for beach holidays.

What surprises many first-time visitors is how much variety Benidorm packs into a small area. You can eat paella beside local families in the Old Town, dance until dawn on the Levante strip, or walk into near-silence along the Poniente promenade within twenty minutes of each other. The city is also a genuine year-round destination, with mild winters attracting a large contingent of long-stay European visitors who fill the hotels from October through March.

• Levante Beach area: The most energetic part of Benidorm, lined with bars, restaurants and beach clubs. Ideal for younger travellers, party groups and families who want to be in the centre of the action. The beach itself is wide and well-serviced.
• Poniente Beach area: Calmer and more residential in feel, with a longer promenade and a slightly older crowd. A good choice for couples or travellers who prefer a relaxed pace without straying far from the sea.
• Old Town (Casco Antiguo): The original Benidorm village perched on the headland between the two beaches. A compact grid of narrow streets with traditional tapas bars, good seafood restaurants and a genuine local atmosphere. The Barceló Benidorm Beach hotel sits in this zone.
• Centre-ville: The commercial heart connecting the Old Town to both beach strips. Most 3-star hotels are concentrated here, within walking distance of the beaches and the main shopping streets. • Rincon de Loix: The northern extension of the Levante zone, slightly removed from the main strip. Popular with British and Scandinavian long-stay visitors. Quieter at night than central Levante but still well served by restaurants and supermarkets.
• Finestrat: A village in the hills just outside Benidorm, next to the Terra Mitica theme park. Lower prices and a more local feel, with easy bus access to the beaches. The B&B Hotel Benidorm Finestrat is based here and offers good value for travellers with flexible mobility.

• Get a TRAM card: The coastal tram (TRAM Metropolitano d'Alacant) connects Benidorm to Alicante, Altea and Denia. A reloadable card is cheaper than buying individual tickets and makes day trips along the Costa Blanca very straightforward.
• Book early for July and August: Benidorm fills up fast during peak summer. Rates and availability tighten significantly from late June onward. Travelling in May, June or September gives you warm weather, open beaches and more room to negotiate on price.
• Use local buses within the city: The L1, L2 and L3 lines run frequently between the Old Town, both beach zones and Rincon de Loix. Taxis are available but the bus is cheap and avoids parking headaches entirely.
• Airport transfer options: Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC) is roughly 55 km from Benidorm. The ALSA coach service runs direct connections and is the most affordable option. Taxis cost more but are faster and work well for groups or late arrivals. The TRAM does not go directly to the airport.
• Pack for mild winters: If you visit between November and February, expect temperatures around 15 to 18 degrees Celsius during the day. Many hotels stay open, prices drop considerably, and the town is peaceful. A light jacket is enough for evenings.
