• Gare de Limoges (Station District): Practical for business travellers, rail commuters, and anyone arriving by TGV. Hotels here tend to offer competitive rates and include both 3-star and 4-star properties. The station itself connects to Paris Austerlitz in around three hours by direct train.
• Quartier des Charentes and Les Ponts: A quieter residential fringe just south of the centre, close to the river and a handful of independent restaurants. Good if you prefer a calmer street-level environment without being far from the main sights.
• Limoges Sud / Feytiat: The southern suburb, roughly 4 km from the historic core. Best suited to travellers arriving by car, attending events at the Zénith arena, or looking for the lowest nightly rates. Less walkable to the old town but well connected by bus.
• Quartier de la Boucherie: One of the oldest quarters in Limoges, centred on the medieval rue de la Boucherie and the chapel of Saint-Aurélien. Atmospheric, authentic, and close to the main market. A good base if character matters as much as convenience.
