Stay central and you are a short tram ride from everything; choose the outskirts and you trade buzz for quiet — sometimes at a better rate.

• City Centre / Place Grenette: The social heart of Grenoble, packed with cafés, market stalls and independent shops. Ideal for first-time visitors who want to be walking distance from museums, restaurants and the tram hub.
• Presqu'île (Europole): A modern, purpose-built district between the two rivers, home to tech campuses and conference venues. Well served by tram and perfect for business travellers or those attending events at the World Trade Center Grenoble.
• Gare / Victor Hugo: Directly around the main train station, this area is practical above all else — fast connections to Lyon, Paris (TGV) and the ski resorts. Several mid-range hotels cluster here and tram lines fan out in every direction.
• Île Verte / North: A quieter residential neighbourhood north of the centre along the Isère, with a calmer pace and a local, non-touristy feel. Still connected to the centre in under 10 minutes by tram.
