York's Most Appreciated Hotels by Travellers
York is one of England's most visited historic cities, and its accommodation scene reflects that reputation for quality. The hotels listed here are ranked by real traveller scores, meaning every property has earned its place through genuine guest feedback rather than marketing promises. Scores range from a perfect 5/5 down to a still-impressive 4.7/5, covering a wide spread of budgets, from around 70 euros per night up to over 400 euros, and locations from the medieval city centre out to quieter rural spots like Gillamoor and Huby.
What stands out when browsing York's best-rated properties is the diversity on offer. Grays Court, nestled in the city centre, holds a perfect score and sits at the premium end of the price range, while The New Inn Motel in Huby achieves the same high rating of 4.8/5 at a fraction of the cost. Mid-range travellers will find strong satisfaction levels at No.1 by GuestHouse in Clifton and the iconic Grand York in Bishophill. For those who prefer a countryside setting without sacrificing guest-rated quality, Sandburn Hall Hotel in Harton and The Royal Oak Inn in Gillamoor both score exceptionally well.
