Sleep cheap in Saint-Nazaire: what you need to know
Saint-Nazaire is one of the Loire-Atlantique coast's most underrated destinations, home to an impressive submarine base, a lively port, and easy access to La Baule's beaches. The good news for budget travelers is that nightly rates here stay well below those of larger French cities. The selection below starts at just 38 €/night and reaches 62 €/night for a 3-star aparthotel near La Baule, giving you a wide range of options whether you are traveling solo, as a couple, or on a business trip.
Affordable neighborhoods and practical tips
The Trignac district, located 2 to 2.4 km from Saint-Nazaire's center, concentrates the lowest prices on the map: budget chains such as hotelF1, Première Classe, and B&B HOTEL all operate there, and local bus connections make the short hop into town easy. If you prefer a self-catering setup, aparthotels like Smart Appart (44 €/night, rated 4.5/5) or Appart'City Confort Saint-Nazaire Océan in Saint-Marc-sur-Mer (50 €/night) let you cook your own meals and stretch your budget further. Traveling mid-week, booking at least two weeks in advance, and choosing a room without sea view are the three most reliable tactics to secure the lowest available rate in any of these properties.
