Staying in Centre-ville de Biarritz
Centre-ville de Biarritz sits at the heart of this compact Atlantic resort on the Basque Coast of southwest France. The neighbourhood clusters around the central market (Les Halles), the Place Clemenceau, and the pedestrian streets that link the old port to the famous Grande Plage. Everything that defines a Biarritz holiday, from fresh seafood at the market to surf watching at the rocky coves, is reachable on foot from most hotels here. Nightly rates in the area run from around 177 € to 255 €, reflecting the desirable location and the generally high standard of the properties.
The area attracts a broad mix of travellers: surfers who want easy access to the beaches, couples drawn by the Belle Époque architecture and the casino district nearby, and food lovers keen to make the most of the covered market. Transport connections are straightforward: the city centre is served by local STAB buses, and Biarritz-Anglet-Bayonne airport is roughly five kilometres away. The train station, Gare de Biarritz, is about two kilometres from the centre and links the city to Bayonne, San Sebastián, and Paris via TGV. Parking can be tight in summer, so arriving by public transport or taxi is often the simpler choice.
