Frequently asked questions
Which hotels in Annecy have the highest traveller ratings?+
Based on verified guest scores, Hôtel La Chapelle and the Charming Apartment vacation rental both achieve a perfect 5 out of 5. Close behind them, the four-star Le Pélican and Hebe Hotel in the Old Town each earn 4.8 out of 5, making all four the most consistently praised options in the current selection.
Are there highly rated hotels directly in Annecy's Old Town?+
Yes. Hebe Hotel is located in the Vieille Ville itself and holds a 4.8/5 traveller rating, placing it among the top scorers on the list. Staying in the Old Town puts you within walking distance of the canals, the Palais de l'Île and the lakefront promenade, combining a prime location with strong guest satisfaction.
What highly rated options are available near the lake or in the surrounding villages?+
Several well-rated properties sit just outside the city centre. Rivage Hôtel and Spa Annecy in Annecy-le-Vieux and the five-star Black Bass Hotel in Sevrier (about 2.9 km away) both score 4.7/5 and offer lakeside settings. L'Abbaye de Talloires, around 8.8 km from the city centre, also holds 4.7/5 and occupies a converted abbey on the lake. For a countryside alternative, Château de Thorens in Fillière (14.3 km out) matches that 4.7/5 score in a historic château environment.
Does a higher price always mean a better traveller rating in Annecy?+
Not necessarily. Hôtel La Chapelle achieves a perfect 5/5 at 241 euros per night, while the five-star Black Bass Hotel at 871 euros per night scores 4.7/5. Guest satisfaction clearly depends on the overall experience, service quality and how well a property matches traveller expectations, rather than on nightly rate alone. Comparing ratings alongside prices helps you find the best value for your specific priorities.
