• Mitte (City Center): The obvious choice for first-time visitors and anyone who wants to walk to the Münster market, the historic Kaufhaus, and the main shopping streets. Hotels here tend to fill quickly on summer weekends and during trade events.
• Brühl-Güterbahnhof: A post-industrial district northwest of the center that has been steadily redeveloped. It hosts several modern chain hotels at competitive prices and is well connected to the Mitte by tram in around ten minutes.
• Unterwiehre-Nord (City Süd): A residential neighborhood south of the center, quieter than the old town and popular with longer-stay guests. Good tram links keep the cathedral square within easy reach.
• Sankt Georgen-Nord: A southern suburb with a village-like character, suited to travelers who prefer a local atmosphere over central convenience. Tram line 3 connects it to the city center.
• Wiehre: A leafy, bourgeois quarter bordering the city center to the southeast, popular with academics and families. Streets are calm, cafés are plentiful, and the atmosphere is distinctly unhurried.
• Vauban: A former French military base turned model sustainable district, interesting for architecture and urban-planning enthusiasts. It is farther from the center but served by tram line 3.
